Kōyō is the Japanese word for Autumn colours. As winter approaches, leaves turn to yellow, or red depending on the trees (oak, mapple). The landscape is bathed in those flamboyant colours before the first snow falls. It can be observed during different period at different places. With Hokkaidō being the fist place and Kyūshū the last.
